The Teledyne Slocum Sentinel Glider Defense Edition is a long-endurance unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV) designed to provide persistent undersea awareness, threat detection, and distributed sensing capabilities in complex maritime environments. Based on the proven Slocum Glider platform, it enables extended autonomous operations with minimal reliance on crewed vessels, expanding operational reach while reducing mission costs.

Developed for defense and security applications, the Slocum Sentinel supports a wide range of missions, including anti-submarine warfare (ASW), intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR), rapid environmental assessment (REA), critical undersea infrastructure (CUI) monitoring, and subsea and seabed warfare (SSW).

The platform enables scalable distributed sensing architectures by allowing coordinated deployment of multiple gliders to create resilient wide-area monitoring networks. Its months-long to year-long endurance provides continuous maritime awareness, while low acoustic self-noise and near real-time environmental data improve underwater detection and operational decision-making.

Equipped with high-energy payload capabilities, the Slocum Sentinel supports advanced acoustic sensors, onboard processing, and future mission payloads. Its dual thrusters and large buoyancy engine provide reliable control and maneuverability in dynamic ocean conditions, including complex currents and advanced missions such as towed array operations.

The Slocum Sentinel Glider is based on a globally deployed platform with more than 1,300 vehicles delivered worldwide and demonstrated interoperability with NATO and allied naval operations.
